The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana...
Illinois...
White River near Petersburg and Hazleton.
Wabash River from Lafayette to Mount Carmel, except for Clinton.
.Minor flooding continues along a large majority of the Wabash River
from Lafayette downstream to Mount Carmel, along with the extreme
southern portions of the White River near and downstream of
Petersburg. River levels will steadily fall in the coming days with
only light precipitation amounts in the forecast. Flooding will come
to an end along much of the remaining areas of the Wabash and White
Rivers in the next 12-24 hours, with flooding along the Wabash from
Hutsonville downstream ending by Wednesday morning.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Wabash River at Covington.
* WHEN...Until early tomorrow afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Low agricultural lands begin to flood.
Backyard flooding of cottages on right bank starts a short
distance upstream of gage. Critical stage of Young-Neal Levee is
reached.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:45 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 16.3 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:45 AM EDT Sunday was 16.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river will oscillate above flood stage with a
maximum value of 16.4 feet this afternoon. It will fall below
flood stage just after midnight tonight.
- Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
