Accounting Specialist
Reports to: Controller
Accounting Specialist provides a high professional standard of service within our Clark Insurance accounting department. This position will handle a variety of accounting functions in support of our Controller and our Accounting Department.

Essential Functions

  • Process vendor accounts payables.
  • Process company accounts payables, and responsible for reconciliations.
  • Process employee expense reports.
  • Process daily bank deposits and transactions for both Operating and Trust Accounts.
  • Manage account receivables in conjunction with account manager/exectutive.
  • Process NSF checks and maintain all records pertaining to NSF checks.
  • Reconcile and record direct bill commissions.
  • Responsible for Sales and Use Tax record keeping and filings.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • General knowledge of insurance preferred.
  • Extremely detail oriented.
  • Data entry accuracy essential.
  • High level of initiative and able to work well in a team environment.
  • Motivated, goal-oriented, persistent and skilled negotiator.
  • Strong technical capacity with knowledge of Microsoft Office software products.
  • Handles stressful situations and deadline pressures well.

Preferred Experience, Education and Licensing

  • An Associates Degree with 2 – 3 years of experience OR 3 – 5 years of experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products including, Excel, Outlook, Word
  • Training or experience in computer applications.

Position Type
This is a full-time position. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
