The new Claimpages website was launched in early June with a design that we think you’ll enjoy. It features more color and graphics, and provides a photograph with almost every news article. Essentially every area of the website was redesigned.
Although missing at launch, we recently restored the Search feature that many of you were looking for (it’s just under the logo), and are continuing to enhance its functionality. You can expect more changes to it over the next few days.
Today, we launched the BETA version of our Roofing Cost Calculators. Using this tool, you can easily calculate roof replacement with one of our typical roof designs or through a "build your own" option. Let us know what you think!

IN
THE NEWS
Flood Insurance:
The U.S. Senate unanimously approved (and the President signed) a temporary reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) through Sept. 30. The reauthorization is retroactive to June 1, which was the date the program was halted. The reauthorization was previously approved by the U.S. House of Representatives. For more information, visit www.insurancejournal.com/news/national/2010/07/01/111226.htm.
Hurricane Alex: Catastrophe risk modeling firm AIR Worldwide (AIR) estimates that insurable losses from Hurricane Alex are not expected to exceed $200 million USD. Since insurance penetration in Mexico is relatively low, insured losses are not expected to be significant. This loss estimate covers possible wind and flood damage to onshore properties in Mexico, and is based on the available meteorological parameters and the forecast track for Hurricane Alex since it made landfall in northeast Mexico Wednesday night.
Staged Accidents in Florida: The number of suspicious auto accidents that were staged or deliberately caused by criminals in Florida has increased dramatically in the past year according to a study by the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB).
While the number of questionable claims for all insurance fraud increased 15 percent from 2008 to 2009 in Florida, the 58 percent jump in the staged/caused accident category shows that criminals are taking advantage of the state’s no-fault auto accident coverage.
