The hailstorm that slammed metro Denver on Sept. 29 came late but was the most damaging of a busy season, with insured losses topping $213.3 million, according to a report Monday from the Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association. Claims included 29,297 car insurance claims worth more than $87.2 million and 14,287 property insurance claims for $126 million, ranking the storm as the eighth most expensive to hit the state. The September storm, which pelted the south metro area with golfball-sized hail, capped what was an active season.
