20 workers in hospital after explosion at chemical factory

The Health and Safety Executive is making inquiries into a chemical spill at an industrial site in Runcorn. About 20 workers were taken to Warrington Hospital with breathing problems and eye irritation after the incident at Keppel Seghers in Percival Lane on Wednesday morning. They were treated after being in contact with calcium hydroxide, known more commonly as hydrated lime.
