A lawmaker who wrote legislation that would prohibit texting while driving said Wednesday he hopes the measure will change the behavior of some Oklahoma motorists, and ultimately save lives. The House Criminal Justice Committee voted 11-0 to send Rep. Terry ODonnells bill to the full House for debate and a vote. It marks the second consecutive year that the Tulsa Republican has authored legislation to ban texting while driving in the state. Last year, a similar bill died on the House floor.
