Insurers estimate that the recent wildfire in Colorado Springs caused nearly $300 million in damage. The Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association released an estimate from the Black Forest Fire Monday. The insurers say that the June blaze has prompted about approximately 3,630 homeowner and auto insurance claims. El Paso County reports 486 structures burned. The total makes Black Forest the second most expensive wildfire in state history. The record remains last years Waldo Canyon Fire, which led to more than $350 million in claims. That fire was also in Colorado Springs.
