The Dallas law firm Chamblee, Ryan, Kershaw & Anderson, P.C., has successfully defended a Dallas-based trucking company in a lawsuit over a tractor-trailer injury accident. Though plaintiffs sought more than $2 million in damages, they received less than $90,000. The case involved a massage therapist who claimed a tractor-trailer owned by Dallas-based FFE Transportation Inc. pulled in front of her car and failed to yield the right of way. The plaintiff claimed in court filings that the 2009 accident injured her back and hurt her ability to do her job. She demanded approximately $2.5 million for medical expenses, future lost wages, pain and suffering, and other considerations. Attorneys Bill Chamblee and Jarad L. Kent of Chamblee Ryan defended FFE Transportation at trial, convincing a McLennan County district court jury that the plaintiff had pre-existing back problems and trouble with her eyesight. On April 23, 2013, the jury awarded the plaintiff $89,199 in actual damages.
