Eight people, including three children, were without a home Monday after a fire spread from a car to their house in Nestor near San Ysidro, the San Diego Fire Department said. The owner of the home on 2990 Brando Drive was doing mechanical work on a car in the driveway around 7:15 p.m. Sunday when the fire started.
