Firefighters responded to a blaze in a multi-story apartment building in Westwood around 8:30 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The fire broke out in one of 46 units at the Wilshire Manor Apartments in the 10600 block of Wilshire Boulevard.The "stubborn" fire took until around 9:30 p.m. to extinguish. Wilshire was closed between Westholme and Manning avenues as more than 100 firefighters battled the blaze. Firefighters assisted with a "handful" of evacuations and residents who have been asked to shelter in their apartments, according to LAFD.
