Florida Clinic Operators Arrested On PIP Fraud Charges

Three people were arrested Wednesday morning and law enforcement is searching for another suspect after an undercover operation found insurance fraud at a now-closed Bradenton clinic, according to state insurance regulators. Agents with the Florida Division of Insurance Fraud began investigating the First Medical & Rehab clinic, 3220 First St. W., Bradenton, in an undercover operation in March, according to Maj. Mike Byrne. Byrne said investigators found evidence that the clinic was paying people involved in automobile accidents to say they had certain procedures done, which were then billed to insurance.
