Convicted Sandy fraudster Frank Lewery teamed up with an insurance adjuster to fleece four fire victims out of hundreds of thousands of dollars, forging insurance checks to fill his own wallet and refinance his own home, prosecutors allege. The allegations came to light in a criminal court complaint filed against the Tottenville contractor this week. Lewery, 52, and John A. Carino, 47, who works with Public Insurance Adjusters of N.Y., Ltd, now face a raft of felony charges ranging from grand larceny to identity theft to bribery.
