A pedestrian is suing Jefferson Parish and two utility companies claiming they are responsible for injuries she received in a trip and fall in a hole in a path. Abbie Lynn Theriot filed suit against The Parish of Jefferson, AT&T Corp. and Cox Communications LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 2. Theriot alleges on Oct. 13, 2013 she was walking on a pedestrian path located at Taffy Street and Ames Boulevard in Marrero that was within the work areas of AT&T Corp. and Cox Communications. The plaintiff contends that as she was walking along the pedestrian pathway the ground gave way underneath her feet and she fell face first into a concrete lined hole.
