Insurance Journal - The National Hurricane Center in Miami has issued an advisory bulletin for tropical storm Oscar, which is centered about 1245 miles, 2005 km, west-northwest of the Cape Verde Islands. Maximum sustained winds are around 40 mph, 65 km/h, with higher gusts. Oscar is moving toward the north-northwest near 9 mph, 15 km/h, and a “turn toward the north is expected later today, followed by a northeastward acceleration tonight and Friday,” the NHC said. “Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 150 miles, 240 km, to the east of the center.” On the forecast track, Oscar would not pose any threat to land. - Go To Story
