One tenant is dead from an early morning fire in a New Haven high-rise apartment building, the fire chief said.
A couple of firefighters and two other residents were also injured. Firefighters were called out to the University Towers building on York Street around 4:45 a.m. Ladder crews rescued people from the balconies of the building. On its Twitter account, New Haven Fire said “Visible fire on the 6th floor spreading laterally” and “Heavy smoke top floor, 17 floor”.
