Texas Dept. of Insurance Announces Top 10 Insurance Fraud Cases of 2013

More than $10.3 million in insurance fraud was identified in criminal cases referred for prosecution by the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) Fraud Unit in Fiscal Year (FY) 2013. Court-ordered restitution for cases that reached final adjudication during this same period totaled more than $7.5 million. Each year, TDI announces the Top 10 Insurance Fraud Cases to raise public awareness of serious crimes that have a direct impact on insurance premiums.
