Tornado Leaves Widespread Damage In Louisiana Parish

Two people were injured after a tornado hit an area of Tangipahoa Parish early Sunday morning.The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office said the tornado hit Tickfaw around 3:52 a.m. at Joel McDonald Road off Woodhaven Road. According to initial information, two people were injured from the tornado. It left widespread damage in the community. The NWS sent out a survey team Sunday to assess the damage and confirm the tornado. The team determined that the tornado was an EF1. The TPSO is continuing to patrol the area. Deputies are being assisted by the Natalbany Fire Department and Acadian.
