Two Squad Cars Struck at Crash Site on Illinois Tollway

Two Illinois State Police squad cars were involved in a five-vehicle crash early Wednesday on the Veterans Memorial Tollway in Bolingbrooke, causing large delays in the southbound lanes Wednesday morning. Three of the four lanes were closed as a result, but later reopened at 7:14 a.m., Illinois State Police said. About 5:51 a.m., police stopped to investigate a three-vehicle crash just north of the I-55 exit when both cars were struck, police said. One trooper was inside each car, but neither were not injured, police said.
