Exciting new Software Engineer role to implement new and sustain existing business and Information Technology (IT) solutions including software configuration and development, system and data integration and management of Software as a Service (SaaS) products. This position exists to ensure new business solutions are implemented successfully and consistently with company and department goals.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Provides technical support to the organizations' operation to optimize and maximize systems.

  • Creates and maintains software solutions to support the Company's business and IT operations.
  • Collaborates with engineering and project teams in the documenting of software designs.
  • Partners with Business Analysts in the creation, refinement and review of functional and non-functional requirements and specifications.
  • Develops deployment scripts and provides detailed documentation for deploying and supporting software.
  • Collaborates with IT staff and business during technical meetings, regular code reviews, and technical planning meetings.

Develops and/or executes system designs to produce a robust solution within time and cost requirements.

  • Facilitates the delivery of artifacts that meet business specifications.
  • Writes application and system integration code, defines logical and physical data structures, builds reports, and provides automation scripts.
  • Applies best practices, including design reviews, unit testing, code reviews and continuous integration/deployment, to minimize, if not eliminate, defects upon delivery.
  • Identifies and advocates areas for improvement within the technology of the organization.

Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to multiple internal customers collaborating on information systems projects.

  • Modifies, implements, and maintains existing applications to the established standards, specifications and approved changes.
  • May utilize Jira to track defects and resolutions.
  • May conduct testing as part of defect resolution to ensure accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness to achieve desired results.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with a major or emphasis in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of directly related experience as a software engineer or similar technical role
  • 3 years of Java experience preferred
  • Experience with Git repository and Jenkins Pipelines preferred.
  • Familiarity with design patterns. Experience working with Quality Assurance and Business Analyst teams to deliver quality software on time.
  • Some experience with database design, Microsoft SQL Server Studio, experience creating SQL scripts, writing SQL queries preferred.
  • Experience with Webservices and REST services, Postman, Stored Procedures, CI/CD Pipeline, Python.
  • Good software design instincts and coding style. Familiar with general programming languages/concepts/paradigms including Java and Python.
  • Some experience with HTML, XML, JSON, and related technologies.
  • Good debugging skills.
  • Basic understanding of Enterprise Web Services and API connectivity, protocols and best practices for communication and integration between applications.
  • Basic understanding of secure coding practices and common attack vectors.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures for developing software, including peer reviews and unit testing.
  • Demonstrated ability working as a technical team member.

Data Management Specific Requirements: Ability to analyze existing data repositories to identify and develop data mapping and business rules for data conversions and processing. Design large complex data sets and data models that meet functional/nonfunctional requirements. Build optimal ETL data pipelines from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and APIs with experience in AWS big data technologies preferred. Ability to create tables, views, functions, stored procedures, and SSIS packages for data integration projects. Integrate new data management technologies into existing data structures with experience in data virtualization preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in an office environment and requires the frequent use of computer, telephone, copier and other standard office equipment.

COMPENSATION

The salary range listed for this position, 89,139.23 to 150,327.26, is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at ICW Group, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education. In addition, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer. We typically do not hire at the maximum of the range in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a substantial benefits package outlined below.
