Exclusive Residences Targeted by Contractor Thieves; Stolen Jewelry Stash Worth Millions Seized

A prolific high-end burglar has been apprehended and is now behind bars, thanks to the diligent efforts of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. Law enforcement officials have managed to recover a cache of stolen goods, including an array of jewelry items, some with individual values of up to $1 million.

Sheriff Javier Salazar revealed that the breakthrough came on August 11 when deputies executed three search for two residential properties and a storage unit. The operations yielded a treasure trove of high-value items, ranging from exquisite watches, necklaces, and earrings to rare coins, construction tools, sports memorabilia, and various collectibles. Notably, the haul included an estimated 30 to 40 watches, each valued at $500,000 or more.

The alleged burglar was identified as 37-year-old Julian Puente. Investigators know of a second suspect, although no formal charges have been filed against this individual yet. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that Puente and his potential accomplice leveraged their roles as contractors to mask their illicit activities. This strategy enabled them to infiltrate upscale neighborhoods, posing as legitimate workers while surveying residential areas. Officers found a list containing 20 to 30 names and corresponding addresses, which appeared to serve as potential targets.
