Explosion and fire at N.J. townhome complex

An explosion rocked a town home complex in Mercer County, N.J., Tuesday afternoon, killing one person and injuring several others. It happened in a densely populated Heritage Crossing community on Crockett Lane in Ewing. The blast ignited a fire that tore through several units. PSE&G said in a statement that it was working in the area before the blast after a contractor damaged a gas line.
"Crews were working on repairs when there was an ignition at about 1 p.m.," PSE&G said in the statement.
