Hospital Sued for Automatic Door Malfunction

The family of a woman who allegedly died after suffering a brain injury when she hit her head on a pavement after being knocked to the ground by a defective electric door is suing the hospital where the incident allegedly took place. Michael Pitre and Nancy Pitre Desalvo, individually and on behalf of their deceased wife and mother Verna B. Pitre, filed suit against Jefferson Parish Hospital Service District No. 2, Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana, East Jefferson General Hospital, and DCI Door Controls Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 7.
