Strong storms moved through the metro Atlanta on Wednesday, taking down trees and causing power outages for some residents. In Cobb County, the storm dumped heavy rain and brought intense lightning.
On Hickory Grove Road, several trees fell during the storm. One tree speared through James Scroggins living room, while several other trees toppled on a home next door. Cobb firefighters said they were swamped during the quick-moving storm. Over in Hall County, residents on Chadwick Drive outside of Oakwood seemed to bear the brunt of the storm. Many trees came down in a half-mile radius.
