Texas City Workers Swarmed by Killer Bees

A Wichita Falls street department worker was stung about 1,000 times Thursday when an aggressive swarm of bees attacked him as he mowed grass, and two co-workers who tried to help him were stung, too. Initial reports indicated incorrectly that firefighters were stung when they went to the man’s aid. Wichita Falls city officials blamed Thursday’s attack on Africanized honey bees. The worker was attacked while he was mowing grass along culverts near the Weeks Park Tennis Center, spokesman Barry Levy said.
