Wichita Falls, Texas Under Mandatory Evacuation Due To Flooding

The City of Wichita Falls scheduled mandatory evacuations for Thursday morning at 8 a.m. for parts of the city. Residents in parts of the Tanglewood neighborhood and parts of the city’s east side were told to leave at 8 a.m. Thursday due to flooding in the Wichita River. That evacuation had originally been scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, but was moved up. Electricity was shut off in the evacuated areas at 8 a.m., the city said. The city provided a list of suggested preparations in a post on its Facebook page Wednesday night.
