FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues along the French Broad River near Fletcher. * WHERE...A portion of western North Carolina, including the following counties, Buncombe and Henderson. * WHEN...Until 600 PM EST. * IMPACTS...Isolated farmland flooding across the French Broad River Valley, from Etowah downstream to Avery Creek upstream of the gauge site at Fletcher. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1226 PM EST, Minor flooding was occurring in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River flows were elevated. The river is taking longer to recede than originally forecast, so the Flood Advisory has been extended. - Flooding impacts will continue through this afternoon, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
