A period of moderate to heavy rain is expected through Friday as
low pressure moves up the coast. The rain will fall on a primed
snowpack leading to significant melt. The combination of rain and
snowmelt will increase flows in rivers and streams, some of which
could reach critical levels.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central, northern, and southern New Hampshire,
including the following areas, in central New Hampshire, Belknap.
In northern New Hampshire, Northern Carroll and Southern Carroll.
In southern New Hampshire, Cheshire.
* WHEN...Through Friday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Small streams may rise out of their banks.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Rainfall of 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts is
possible in the watch area. This in combination with snowmelt
will lead to small stream flooding.
