Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee FL has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Alabama...
Choctawhatchee River near Newton (SR 134) affecting Dale County.
For the Choctawhatchee River...including Newton (SR 134)...Moderate
flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Choctawhatchee River near Newton (SR 134).
* WHEN...From late tonight to Saturday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 28.5 feet, Water will approach the foundation of a
few homes along Wildwood Loop downstream from the gage on the west
bank of the river.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 6.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
just after midnight tonight to a crest of 28.9 feet early
tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage
Saturday morning.
- Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
28.7 feet on 12/26/2015.
