Increased threat for wildfires will result across the Coastal Plain of Eastern NC on Saturday. West winds will gust over 25 mph, along with afternoon relative humidities as low as 25 percent. These factors will combine with the lack of recent appreciable rainfall to produce the increased threat for wildfires. Outdoor burning is discouraged. Please refer to your local burn permitting authority on whether you can burn. If you do burn, use extreme caution and ensure fire suppression equipment is readily available.
