Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you can burn. If you do, you are advised to use extreme caution.
There will be an increased threat for wildfires across most of Eastern NC today until around sunset. The combination of strong westerly wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph, relative humidity values of 20 to 25 percent this afternoon, and dry ground fuels will allow any fires to quickly spread with erratic fire behavior possible. Outdoor burning today is discouraged. Please refer to your local burn permitting authority on whether you can burn. If you do burn, use extreme caution and ensure fire suppression equipment is readily available.
