The National Weather Service in Indianapolis IN has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana...
Wabash River at Covington and Montezuma.
.Rainfall of one inch or more earlier this week is now expected to
take the Wabash River at Covington and Montezuma back into minor
flood briefly over the next couple of days. Crests are likely to be
less than one foot above flood stage in both locations, well below
levels experienced earlier this month.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Wabash River at Covington.
* WHEN...From this evening to Saturday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Low agricultural lands begin to flood.
Backyard flooding of cottages on right bank starts a short
distance upstream of gage. Critical stage of Young-Neal Levee is
reached.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:45 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 15.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
this evening to a crest of 16.3 feet just after midnight
tonight. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow
evening.
- Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
