The river crested less than one foot above flood stage at Lafayette late this morning, and the level will drop below flood stage overnight tonight. Crests at Montezuma and Covington will occur Friday. New flood warnings may be needed Friday for Hutsonville and Riverton in anticipation of possible flooding of about one foot or less that could start Friday night or Saturday morning and last as late as Monday.
