Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
At 1059 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Chetopa to 4 miles southeast of Bluejacket to 6 miles northwest of Pryor, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. At 10:50 PM, a 65 mph wind gust was reported 7 miles east of Centralia at the Vinita Mesonet station.
